On the 1st of march 2019, winners of the women in architecture awards were announced at gala luncheon in London. This year, women architects were nominated for two prizes and these are following: Architect of the Year and the Moira Gemmill Prize.

And finally, the winners announced on Friday are Sheila O’Donnell as Architect of the year and Xu Tiantian as
a winner of Moira Gemmill Prize.

Sheila
O´Donnell won win her Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. With
her original modern „dramatic
pitched glass roof and sculptural red steel staircases“ as it´s written at www.architectural-review.com.

Women
in architecture award founded by Christine Murray has it´s first cover very
provocative. The title at Architectural Journal was “Architect Barbie”, restyled
in black leather instead of pink and soft colors which stereotypes predict to
women.
